A character that has been diseased for a few years. It's easier at a funeral setting imo. They probably wanted there to be more emphasis on Lulu (she never got a chance to mourn Luke so she's the best reason to initiate this episode), Tracy and of course Laura as the main threads. If you add too many characters it kind of dilutes the episode a bit. I guess it depends who else would be added and if it made sense. It's certainly possible though that budget played a part in it as well. I personally enjoyed the episode, but there's always things they could do differently.
