Teen storylines are often about dating angst. Rocco dealing with shooting someone (to save Jason's life) AND having Jason demanding to take responsibility for the shooting is great for Rocco. Only Lulu and Lucas know the truth and Rocco is forced to keep quiet -- not to save himself but because all the adults, including Jason, demand it.

Which also has Rocco not only dealing with the guilt of shooting someone and Jason in jail, but watching Danny's despair at what his father did and his being out of reach is also killing Rocco.

So much more interesting than standard teen triangle.
