This is a tough conversation to have.
If Biden were to step down, VP Kamala would be next in line (whom I would enthusiastically support). Can she beat Trump? I haven't seen polls, but my gut says no. I love her, but I know many people, even Dems., who never warmed to her regardless of how invaluable she has been promoting abortion rights.
The American people were comfortable with a black female VP, but will they risk her inheriting the presidency? We are still experiencing backlash from the Obama presidency.
Those who are asking Biden to step aside recall what happened to HRC. The only way to pacify the white male pundits would be for KH to step down for Newsom or another white male. Black women are the core of the base, and KH supporters will not be pleased to say the least.
