SoapZone Community: Politics Message Board

I was a little surprised to find schools closed today. Yes, we have several local schools that serve as a polling place--I vote at one of them--but in years past, that was also true and school was never called off. The voting booths were usually just set up in the gym, and students didn't have gym class that day. I'm guessing the increase of "stranger danger" is why schools are now closed on Election Day.
