One guy said he expects Trump to end the war in Gaza on day one of his next term. Another said he expects the Jan 6 “protesters” to be pardoned on day one. Another said he believes Trump has a mandate to “do whatever the hell he wants”. A lot of people will be disappointed when the price of eggs doesn’t immediately go down.
If he quickly implements his tariffs and mass deportations, the prices of basic goods like food will go up. We’ll see how his zealots react to the price of eggs and a roof over their head going up, not down, under Trump.
I guess it’s our job to make clear that he has no mandate to “do whatever the hell he wants”. This message needs to come, not only from those of us in blue states but also from people in all those states where the election was close. Trump has a huge amount of power right now, but he does not have the mandate of most Americans to do whatever the hell he wants.
