Subject: Impeach SecDef Hegseth
Secretary of Defense Hegseth is proving himself unqualified for the position. I had doubts before his confirmation hearings, but he is NOT performing up to basic military standards.
His FIRST attempt at doing his job was the removal of transgender people from the military. This is not good for the military.
His SECOND attempt at doing his job was ordering the removal of all items related to the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
This THIRD attempt at doing his job was releasing the names of the Servicemembers killed in the accident a few days ago, well within the 24 hours needed for notification of the next of kin. As a former Casualty Assistance Officer, I know that the 24 hour window is there for a reason. We were told that the next of kin could be notified during "reasonable hours." That is why information is not released immediately. Their lives change from the moment they are notified and that night may be the last good night's sleep they'll get. Releasing the names IN A PRESS CONFERENCE is extremely bad form and against protocol.
Please relieve him of his duties, for the sake of the armed forces.
