Trade war, but it's a war.

I don't see American creators talking about this all that much but it is a focus up here. I think we're in a position where it can be the only thing we are focused on right now (even while I have a provincial election and am about to get a new Prime Minister) because we are only having to deal with this insane Trump move and not his 90 other moves. So I'm just going to drop some stuff I really hope is being communicated to Americans by their media, but will understand if it isn't because there is a LOT to look at right now.

* Less than 1% of the US's migrants and fentanyl come into the US via the Canadian border.

* Canada has already committed to Trump to spent over $1B beefing up border security.

* Trump has said he is not looking for a concession and he never gave us a specific demand to meet.

* The tariffs are punitive but he has not coherently or consistently conveyed what we are being punished for.

* Probably because we didn't do anything.

* The rage and the anger and the sense of betrayal up here is real. It does, however, recognize that this is the American government and not the American people, who most people think are being victimized by this, too.

* Canadians are very united in buying Canadian and our government is now officially asking us not to travel to the US while they do what they can to cancel US contracts.

* No one seems embarrassed that the hockey fans boo'ed the American anthem in Ottawa last night.

* Currently there is a lot of support for retaliation -- not only because we haven't been given something to do to make this stop, but also because we are angry.

* We do have that one rogue premier who is trying to take credit for stuff. She is pretty broadly hated.

* If this goes on for any protracted amount of time it WILL hurt the American economy. It will probably hurt us more, but I cannot overstate how much will there is up here to do everything we can to make sure Americans feel it.
