who are in favour of this, but I know people are out there who actually think the US is "subsidizing" us (they aren't) and that we are "taking advantage" of you (we aren't) -- and still others who get offended when Canadians say that this relationship has always been lopsided, we are used to it. The US is not a benevolent daddy who is going around giving other countries handouts.
The US is a powerful nation and they use that power to do what they think is best for their interests. Any narrative that they are the victim of another country merely existing and having trade relationships is a lie.
