when they go on sale, they are around $3/pack so we stock up.

we are also eating quite a bit more pork and even less red meat than we used to.

I have found that smaller, whole chickens can really help out the food budget. On sale, they are around 13/14 dollars and you can eat for two a couple of nights, then you still have leftovers for soups and chicken salad.
