...has a story about being harassed or attacked in a public restroom. Every single one. And not just one story, really. This has happened to all of them multiple times. At least three off the top of my head subsequently had routine UTIs. And as someone whose routine UTIs appears to have morphed into interstitial cystitis, it SUCKS and we should not be inflicting this needlessly on innocent people. How would any of us feel? If it was not just a fear but a reality that we have a not-insignificant chance of being attacked every time we use the public restroom? Sure, I've been to some sketchy bathrooms with creepers lurking in my day. But not all the damn time, regardless of where I am. I'm able to say "You know what, not this one, I'll go find one where I feel safer." That feeling doesn't exist for most trans people.
