They reinstated his "gender at birth".
D was born intersex. He had no MFing gender. His gender was created; it was effin fictional. The Docs and parents decided to declare him to be a female and did all these procedures on him to make this happen. As an infant.
He wasn't effin female at birth. When I first met him in HS, he told me he was a hermaphrodite, the archaic term for intersex.
It's only been maybe four years since D, following much introspection, realized he'd always been male. Very much a tomboy, interested in women only, looked like a man, etc.
When he made the decision, everyone in our HS friend group said..YES YES YES...that is it. This is YOU. He reversed some previous surgeries (ie breast implants) and started wearing men's clothing, and it fit him like a glove.
This regime is harming real people with real stories, real experiences, with life histories that are not easily stuck into one box or another. Cruelty truly is the point.
I defy ANYONE to defend this ish. Decades of trauma, finally finding home, only to have the beasts running this country tell him who he is.
