The Social Security Administration has all the information needed to verify name and citizenship. Why not have the Social Security Office issue "qualifying" photo ID that verifies citizenship, date of birth, and has a picture on it instead of the current flimsy Social Security card on card stock. It could be issued at no cost at field offices and expire five years later with free renewal at a field office or if a new card is needed.

SSA has the information on file NOW to have issued new SS cards when a person changes their name. Just issue a different type of card FOR FREE, only something sturdier than the stock paper SS cards with the photo on the front and US CITIZEN with the individual's SS number, Medicare number on the back.

FREE or it's a poll tax. The problem with the SAVE Act is the Republicans in Congress (, including you,) didn't bother think of ways to make it work. They (Their) only thought [(was)] of ways to block "the right people." FREE ID is the solution that prevents a bill that is unconstitutional from the start being signed into law. Any cost for an ID or supporting documents is a poll tax. Poll taxes violate the 24th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

I amended it a bit ( ) for my representative because he's a Republican. [I only copied the text that I sent to my senators. I couldn't remember how I adjusted the one to the guy I didn't vote into office.]
