My daughter and I agreed that we will use our artificial tree for the last time this year. It's been through a lot. Next year, in theory, we'll have the new living room done.
I spoke with my contractor last Monday about some changes to the plan, since they weren't approved and he has to talk with the city planners. The city planner wants extremely detailed stuff, more details than he usually submits with his plans. The details don't forego inspections, so not sure why he needs the details. ANYWAY, we decided not to have a patio that half wraps around the house; but we are laying concrete there. We're going to extend the screen room to an enclosed space that includes that little bit to the side (about 8' X 8'...that's a room, so I have to call my HVAC guys), and only having the patio along the back.
We should start in January!!!!! I would think that we could have a Christmas tree in the new space next December. Is that too much to ask?!!!
