Leo is getting blood drawn tomorrow and since he reacted so badly the last time, the vet gave me gabapentin to give him tonight and again tomorrow before his appointment. How should I expect him to react? Will he just be mellow? Sleepy? Lethargic? And how long does it take to wear off? OK, I guess that's two questions.
I'm just a little worried because Leo is normally a pretty mellow cat who just wants to take a nap in your lap. I'm not sure how much more mellowed out he can get. Also, he's an older kitty--16 now--and while I'm sure the vet wouldn't give him anything she thinks could harm him, I'm still a little nervous.
Any advice would be appreciated. I'm on my way out the door to meet a friend for lunch but I'll be back later to read any responses. Thanks in advance!
