running from store to store on Christmas Eve trying to finish my shopping but if I get everything too early, I either misplace where I stashed something or I get bored with nothing to do in mid-December. I still have three gifts in various stages of "ready to go": I ordered something for my good church friend which didn't arrive in time for our gift exchange yesterday (one of the reasons I *like* to shop in stores, though I have nothing against online shopping). I haven't even started making the rosemary mint skin/hair oil I intend to give to my neighbor friends, but I don't know when I'm going to see them next, so I have at least two days to do that (and it's easy enough to dump ingredients in the crockpot). Then there's my "gag" gift for my bff...her kitchen is decorated in roosters. On Pinterest, I came across someone making faux stained glass by mixing acrylic paint with clear glue and painting on glass. I found a rooster stained glass pattern and...put off doing anything till about it till this past Friday. Friday, I used a specific black glass paint to do the "leading" ( ) and then waited for it to dry. Yesterday, I painted the pic...and I noticed the line around the rooster's eye is a little thick and slightly slanted, giving the rooster a half-angered, half-crazed look. Which makes it more perfect for bff; she'll be amused about getting a p*ssed off rooster picture. But I ran into another problem: the pieces of metal that hold the glass on are attached to the backing, not the frame. So now I need to consult my genius dad, who's an expert at problem solving, to figure out a way to hold the glass in without putting the backing back on and ruining the "stained glass" look.
