Let’s not forget there is an official Emmy’s list of noms and winners. And a lot of winners are given the envelope at least that is what I heard.

That's probably the biggest sticking point. If I was famous(ish), and someone told me I won an Emmy, I'd probably be narcissistic and looking for my name on the list of winners. Or at the very least, one of my relatives would probably be looking for my name and then text me to say "hey, I didn't see YOUR name, but I saw a 'Victor <name close to my surname>' listed as the winner of the award you said you won. What's up with that?" That would TOTALLY be something my sister would do.

Is it possible some truly didn’t know? Slim to none. I’d put it around 1% lol

I can imagine there's one or two who didn't pay the least bit of attention and maybe didn't even really care if they won the award and thus wouldn't have known it wasn't their name submitted but a fake name. I really want to hear now from those who won under a fake name--I want their side of this very bizarre story.
