unfortunately.

Neither Dad nor I have any plans until Wednesday, so "safe" shouldn't be a problem. "Warm"...probably not happening. It just reached 12° here, and while I know we're actually experiencing warmer temperatures than many other parts of the country, my fingers and toes don't care <g>.

Dad and I went to church this morning. Good church friend did not--she tends to be a worrier and a bit anxious and is convinced if she goes out in the cold, even on a clear sunny day such as today, something terrible will happen to her or her car or both. Most of the congregation made it to church but I had to raise an eyebrow at how...not warmly some of them were dressed. There was one young girl in a sleeveless dress! I was annoyed that Dad went out in just a dress shirt, vest, jacket and nice pants and shoes--no jacket, no hat, no gloves. Yes, he was only outside in the time it took to park near the door and walk into, and later out of, the church but I still wasn't happy with his lack of winter gear.

Poor Leo...he wants to go outside every day and can't quite understand why it looks so nice out but is, in reality, not so nice out. At one point, I opened the door and let him out, but before it could swing shut, he was back in the house, giving me a look like "what the heck, woman--what's up with the cold?". Sorry, Mr. Leo...if I had the power to make it warmer outside, you can bet I would!
