I had no doubt it'd be soul sucking but I hadn't considered they might evaluate me based on sales. I did think about my bff; she took a break about 15 years into nursing to work as a dental receptionist. She was always talking about how her dentist would urge her to call patients and suggest procedures to them. Bff didn't mind calling to remind people they were overdue for a cleaning but she was uncomfortable calling to suggest crowns or teeth whitening or some other procedure that wasn't strictly necessary.
