for money? Probably not, but it does to many people. This story is reminding me of the time after the Hawaii wildfires last year when Oprah and the Rock decided to start a fund to benefit the survivors and help the island rebuild. Despite them both pledging plenty of their own money, they got a lot of backlash from folks thinking it was "wrong" for millionaires (I believe Oprah is actually a billionaire) to ask the "little people" who are barely managing to put food on their own tables to help out.

I fully admit I can be a little judge-y when it comes to GoFundMe accounts. I especially side-eye the couples who want strangers to pay for their dream wedding. Yes, of course nobody's forcing anyone to donate but it seems, I don't know, a little greedy and entitled to ask strangers to help you out with something you don't actually NEED, and it worries me that it will sour people on GoFundMe, which I think is actually a great resource for people who need help paying medical bills or legal fees or burying loved ones.
