Nothing major like $5 or $10. I think they most I have ever given was $25.

Sometimes I am moved by the stories and if I can validate that it's legit by googling the story--I will donate. But I am fairly certain I haven't donated more than 10 times ever.

Here are some things I remember that inspired me:

1. There was this female security guard from Chicago, who was assaulted. Three patrons m/f/m were walking and one of the guys decided to lay down and then vomit in the corner in the FRONT of the building. She saw him, and asked him, asked if he was okay? Said please move along and she was going to clean it up. He hauled off and punched her in the face. I think he broke some teeth and her nose. An ex army vet did this. Thankfully he was sentenced to 3 years in prison. Her supervisor put up a GoFundMe because she didn't have good insurance and was a mother. The GFM asked for $30,000 and it raised $34,000.

2. The Burger King employee who was given some candy from BK to honor his 27 years of service. Dude has never called off work. Candy?! Someone felt sorry and did a GFM for him and it raised $450,000. He just bought a house.

3. There was a 19-20 year old who did not have a car. He would take the bus as close as he could get to work and then walk the rest of the way 2 hours I believe. Someone started a GFM but then forwarded to the manager of a dealership and they gave him a car!!! It made me tear up when I saw it the follow up story on the news.

4. Teen was captured on ring doorbell telling the neighbors in his complex that he really liked their XMAS decorations and how he just lost his mom etc. Someone started a GFM for him

Definitely lots of scams though. Like the couple who raised over $100,000 for this homeless guy and gave him very little of the money. They spent it on themselves. I know he took them to court over it.
