You're right, pets are family, and I know for some people this can be worse than losing a person.
People who've never had a pet would probably find it a bit ridiculous how much I've cried over Leo these last couple weeks (I'm crying right now, in fact). I honestly don't think I cried this much when my MOM died, even though I adored my mother. Maybe that's because Mom was sick for a quite a while, and sickly all my life, so I had more time to adjust, whereas Leo was FINE just 15 or so days ago.
