ever feeling creeped out by cemeteries. I always found them to be very….I’m not sure what word I’m looking for — atmospheric? Intriguing? mysterious?

My earliest childhood memory of a cemetery is the cemetery in a tiny Florida town that some of my mom’s aunts and her grandmother settled in. You would appreciate how tiny it was. It had a handful of streets and the center of town had a general store (owned and run by my great aunt), a post office, a bar, a small hotel, a church and a meeting hall. The cemetery was about 3 blocks away from the center of town. This town’s name is Cassadaga and it is a spiritualist camp. The church is a spiritualist church. There were mediums and seances — and a cemetery. Since I went there on summer vacations as a young child, I associated cemeteries with that very interesting tiny town. I don’t remember ever feeling scared — just very curious.
