I figured 10 pounds in 5 months...easy peasy, yes? Except it didn't quite work out the way I wanted. I wound up actually gaining 4 pounds (some, I suspect, came from Sis's visit--both the amount of food I ate while she was here and all her leftovers I had to eat afterward). For the last three weeks, I've really cracked down. I've been watching what I'm eating and, more importantly, how much, I've cut waaaaaay back on sugar (but not eliminated it entirely), I've been walking more, and at a rapider pace, and added some biking into the routine. I'm happy to say I've lost 7 pounds in the last three weeks. It's not where I want to be but I feel less bloated, it's a little easier to button my pants and I don't look quite so round in the middle, so I'm counting it as a win. I will try to keep this up, though all bets are off later this week when I'm in NC.

And on the subject of appearance...I'm *slightly* regretting my recent haircut. I'm not unhappy that I got my hair cut, and my stylist did exactly what I asked for, but I'm now thinking I should've asked her to take only 4" off instead of 6". The extra two inches a) removed the last of my blonde highlights from a couple years ago (I forewent the usual highlights last summer due to monetary concerns and did the same this year) and b) left me with more waves than curls. My hair is kind of stupid in that it only gets really curly when it's long, and then only at the bottom.

The two biggest things I've noticed about my hair cut: I feel it aged me a bit, and not one person has commented on my hair cut. Usually I can count on my bff or my good church friend at least to say "hey, I like your hair!" after I change it up but this time, <crickets>. Oh well, my hair grows pretty quickly, and it'll eventually get back to a length I like (and that's more flattering) in a bit. At least all the dry ends are gone.
