creative editorial, not practical, looks; some of them avant garde. It is a benefit for the Met’s Costume Institute so safe or classic is not the goal. Creativity and originality and risky and fun rule at this event. And sure, the ones that get the most attention get good publicity for both the celebrity and the designer. But mostly it’s about raising a huge chunk of money for the Met.
I’m not sure how some of them dance or sit down or eat or drink or walk in their outfits. Personally, the first thing I’d need to do is take off my shoes, LOL.
