event, both because it is held here at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and because a lot of fashion designers are based here. I think of Tinsel Town as Hollywood/LA. But maybe you meant Tinsel Town more generally as the world of glamour, not a specific place? When I think of Tinsel Town events, I think of the Oscars and other film industry award shows. But the Met Gala is a NYC fashion event to me.
