So, you donโt know what happened to Juice? ๐
We do not. I'm still a little upset about it. You may recall the summer that the neighbors went on short vacations (1-3 days) every single week, and I was asked to feed Juice. As if we weren't already feeding him twice a day...anyways, the one time, the neighbors were going to be gone for a week. Juice was an indoor/outdoor cat; he loved to spend the days outside but usually came in for the evening (some time after dinner at our house). The wife assured me Juice was outside when they left and would be fine being outside all week, and he probably would've been. But he wasn't outside. He missed a couple days of meals at our house and I started to worry. The next day, I saw him in the window of the neighbor's house, staring forlornly out. I texted my neighbor; she gave me the code to their garage so I could go in and feed Juice. Actually, because it was so hot inside the house and there was no food or water put down for him, I let him outside (he was so happy to go) and then just made sure he always had a full bowl of fresh water and a full bowl of food sitting by the neighbors' garage. I preferred him coming over to eat; I had no idea if he was eating the cat food I put out at his house or if other cats, or even raccoons, were eating it.
Anyways, there was about a week last fall when Juice didn't come over. Shortly after, I got a text from the wife asking me if I'd seen him. I said no and said I'd be on the lookout. I also told her to let me know if she found him...she never did :-( My fondest hope is someone took him in and made them their indoor cat. Juice never wore a collar, so he could've been mistaken for a stray. But...he was microchipped, so it seems unlikely he was found and is being cared for. It's possible he's happily living the life of a feral cat somewhere but I doubt it. He really enjoyed both the free meals from us and pestering Dad to pet him (Juice liked Dad better than me; I could only get away with a quick pat or two on Juice's back or butt). I think the most likely scenarios are a) he got trapped inside someone's barn or shed and never made it out or b) he got attacked by another feral cat or one of the coyotes in the area or even the huge hawk that likes to roost in the trees around here. I'd like to think Juice has enough survival instinct to avoid predators but he wasn't the smartest cat...I once saw him stalk a turkey vulture that was bigger than him.
All that to say yes, Juice has disappeared and nobody knows what happened to him :-(
