Demo on the room was last week, new work starts at some point this week.
We try to have all materials on hand and we buy the materials ourselves to save on the contractor upcharge on things like plywood, 2x4s, stuff like that.
Saturday was vacuum out the bays and pull nails that would prevent drywall from lying flat for me, while hubby tried to track down where the MICE were getting into the walls. See, for the first time in the 15 years we've lived here, we heard mice in the walls this winter. He found the entry point, the house had an addition put on in the 80s and over the years because of settling, the new foundation for the addition separated from the original foundation leaving the smallest crack..... and there you have it.
Yesterday I went to my mom's house and helped her with solar-reflecting film for her bay windows. What a giant pain the a$$. We got 2 panels done and I'll have to go back and help with the other FOUR. hey, you get better with every panel! that does mean that we'll probably have to re-do the FIRST window, it will be the worst one, lol.
my sister and her kids stopped by while I was there, so that extended the visit. My mom likes having lots of people in the house.
and then i came home and we had to do grocery shopping and going to home depot for all the wood. we didn't get home until almost 6pm.
So it's been a LONG weekend, with very little rest and yet here we are again at Monday.....which hardly seems fair.
