Hence all the honking and aggressive driving.

The drivers were the only rude people we encountered all weekend. Everyone else was super nice and SO polite. At a gas station late at night on the way to Nag's Head, a young gentleman went out of his way to get the door for me. When I thanked him, he smiled and said "Yes ma'am". You know you're from (or in) the South when folks respond to "Thank you" with "yes ma'am"--I loved it!

And yes, NC is a long state.
