the Yolo side of the Sac River, not knowing you could only see the AB with your camera (doy). We got home...and the best picture I could get with my iphone camera was OK...but didn't catch the streaks.
So..we went to bed late on Friday, woke up exhausted and then...
I discovered that the Community Observatory by Placerville had a beautiful display on Friday night. I informed the couple whose marriage we went to last weekend and we agreed to meet up there on Sat night because it was believed Sat night would be another great display (alas...).
In between, we went to an adoption party at LW's bestie's house. M was exhausted from his night shift, I was exhausted from the previous night. It was a nice, laid back afternoon. I got in some good kvetching about the heat (low 90s) too. Because blech.
Get home and relax for a bit. Then head up to the observatory. We got there too late for the brief display they got at 9:45 PM. I also stumbled and sprained a finger (I thought it was broken but now I don't think so). It was cold, but we had the Milky Way overhead (you can see the outline up there), and tons of stars to gawk at.
The place was supposed to close at 11, but people kept coming, and apparently ppl hung out up there all night. It was too cold for that. LW and I left around midnight and people were still streaming in.
Sunday - still exhausted LOL. I had a lovely day with me boys at a sandwich/ice cream shop on the river in Walnut Grove.
Came home, did some shopping, returned home again and talked to a close friend who is about to marry for the 3rd time (!). I think this one - who doesn't share her background of abuse, and who she just enjoys being around, no drama or fuss - could be the one she finally settles with. I hope so!
