Oldest Jaggett went into preterm labor due to a condition called "cholestasis of pregnancy." Baby "N" was born on Friday, May 10th, when my daughter was 35 weeks along. Baby "N" is 6 pounds, 6 ounces, and his head is covered with chestnut hair, just like his Mama. :) Big sister is two years and five months old and has blonde hair. She was born a carrot top like her Dada, then strawberry blonde, and now is a total toe head with blue eyes. :)
The new parents are thrilled with their little man...but sad because "N" is in the NICU. He passed the NICU car seat test this morning (baby is strapped into their car seat, and a physician watches vitals for 90 minutes). As of yesterday, the hope is that the little guy will come home this Friday. He was put on CPAP within 5 minutes of birth. He cried when he was born, but his respiration decreased quickly, and he was taken to the NICU. My daughter is doing well and was released on Sunday. I've been staying with Oldest Jaggett and family since May 9. When the new parents left for the hospital this morning, Oldest Jaggett was wearing clothes from her non-maternity wardrobe. She gained 10 pounds during her pregnancy, and her body returned to pre-pregnancy in just a few days. She's nursing...so I'm trying to keep her well-fed and hydrated. My granddaughter has not met her little brother because the NICU is 18 years and up. Mama has an app on her phone with a live feed of the baby. Little Miss loves watching "the baby dinosaur". She has been calling "N" dinosaur since she was told about the baby. She finally said his name yesterday but returned to calling him by his nickname. :)
So...huge weekend!
