I think a lot of their relationship probably got stuffed into a short season. I know the show has a lot of characters and stories to service and not a lot of time to do it this go around but I will be greedy and say "gimme more!" for season 8. I want all their dates and kisses and getting to know one another. I want all of their first big relationship steps.

I hope that the show would never go full Bury You Gays but I would love a story with Tommy's chopper going down and a frantic Buck rushing to rescue him with the 118 backing him up.

I just don't see Eddie and Buck the way their fans do. They're best friends, practically brothers plus its rare when you see straight men/gay (bi) men in a supportive friendship. Buck's sexuality has always been suspect but not Eddie's at least not to me.

I read where the showrunner said he wanted to do bi Buck in season 2 but the higher ups at Fox wouldn't let him so instead we got a very queer coded Buck. Thankfully ABC is letting him tell the story now. I never got the same vibe from Eddie tho. He is like Straighty McStraighterson, Mayor of Straight Town. And that's cool. The show needs a hot, non-married straight dude, too. πŸ˜‹ But I also like his friendship with Buck being a bi man and a hetero one just being there for each other, supporting one another and always having each other's backs without one wanting something romantic from the other.
