i have a big yard with loads of flowerbeds, and since we moved in 15 years ago, its been a labor of love every spring, weeding the gardens.
and the gardens have gotten bigger over the years and honestly, it's just too much for me to do on my own. After weeding every weekend since it stopped raining in April, we FINALLY got a yard crew in to help.
two guys and they are almost done with the whole damn yard. I WILL be able to keep up with the weeding now that the Big Pull has been done. I almost don't even care how much it costs, LOL.
But I think it's time for me to lay down the landscaping cloth and think about rubber mulch for the larger beds. Since the rubber isn't organic, nothing wants to grow in it. Landscaping cloth would prevent anything from coming up from underneath.
it's an expensive proposition, so I'll have to pace myself and my wallet, but if I want to keep these garden beds, I have to figure out a way to keep the weeds down long-term.
We don't use round-up or other chemicals for weed prevention, it can wreck havoc on the flowers and bushes I want to keep.
money well spent, is what I'm saying. LOL
