refuses to turn on the a/c unless it's over 90° or if it's in the mid-80s and really humid. What he'll do is, in the early evening, he'll turn on a large fan that sits on a TV tray by the door (cuz we're bougie like that <g>), and open the door and windows in almost all the rooms. The fan draws in the cooler air in the evening...right before bed, we shut off the fan but leave the windows open. In the morning, we either turn the fan back on or leave it off; we then shut the windows around mid-morning as the day starts to heat up. The house is usually tolerable until around 4:00-5:00 PM, then it starts to get a bit warm for my taste.

I mentioned below to Pablo that as I age, I'm more susceptible to the cold. I'm also more susceptible to a/c; I'm used to our house's a/c being set at 78° or 76° on a really hot day and that's fine with me. Some days, I'd rather it be 74° inside but anything much cooler makes me cold. And sometimes when I'm in church or in a store for a long time, the a/c--set where "normal" people have it <g>--will not only feel too cold, it'll give me a headache. The first time I got a a/c-induced headache, I was at home and assumed there was something nasty in the airducts or whatever. It's an old home that's not been well kept up. But then it started happening outside the home and I realized it wasn't just our a/c that can give me a headache, it was ANY a/c that was on high (by my definition).

Even when the a/c somewhere isn't higher than I care for, I will ALWAYS take fresh air over a/c when it's not terribly hot or humid out.
