network shows (this isn't as big a deal now as it was back before streaming services) and--for me--the return of kids to school. I don't have any kids but I love it when there's less of them in stores, at the beach or wherever. For the longest time, bff and I would plan vacations for mid-late September; prices often drop, there's still some "summer" places open and it's too early for parents to pull kids out of school for trips. Not that my folks ever let me miss school for vacation, with the exception of a single day when they took me to King's Island. I'm sure there was something else going on--possibly Dad had a one day school down in the Cincinnati area (he worked for IBM fixing machines and was sent to several different states for training). Anyways, it figured that the one day I'm allowed to miss school was the day they had some lady come in and teach my class how to make candles. Also, I was at an awkward height where I was just a bit too tall for most of the kiddie rides and a bit too short for most of the adult rides. I wound up going on the same three rides all day.
