I tried to find a similar looking skunk online...this is the closest I could find But Fabio has longer, more luxuriant fur on his back. I snapped a pic of him with my phone and showed some friends; they all agree he's one unusual--and fabulous--skunk.

It is so annoying when the night air finally cools enough to throw open windows just before going to bed...and then having to get up and close them when Pepe gets startled. I Googled how often a skunk can spray...it depends on how much they release at once but some have been known to spray up to 6 times in a short time period. Then their, uh, tanks are empty and they need 8-14 days to, um, reload.

Foxes are cute! Many years ago, I caught a couple fox pups playing in a ditch a couple streets over. I had enough time to walk home, get my digital camera (this was before cellphones), get back and snap a couple shots of them. Dad didn't believe I saw foxes until I showed him the pictures.

We are! When I was little, I used to kind of like the smell of skunks, as long as it was somewhat distant. I grew out of that though <g>.
