most years (smell them, yes. See them, no) but bff lives in a Cleveland suburb that's a bit more urban than we are, and skunks like to breed under people's porches or sheds. She had a few skunks one year under her utility building at the back of her property. Unfortunately, she's also had two dogs that got sprayed by skunks when they went out for their evening potty break.
