Society resale store. I'm looking for some very, very specific wardrobe pieces but since I don't actually *need* them, I'd love to find them at a thrift store...anyways, I found this gorgeous Sam Edelman sleeveless maxi dress--black with a large floral pattern in reds and oranges--on the rack, tag still on. The dress originally sold for $138...it was marked $20...literally everything in the store today was 50% so the dress today was $10...
And I didn't get it.
I wanted to. I tried the dress on twice. It fit reasonably well--a little tight around the midsection due to some horizontal stitching (it was a form-fitting dress but three tiers) but nothing that would impede my breathing. The color /pattern looked really nice on me. But the way the arm holes were cut, there were weird gaps towards the back. I think if I had a bigger bosom, it wouldn't have been so, or would've at least been less noticeable, but I don't so it was. I wanted the dress to work SO BAD...but ultimately, it just didn't. I have a feeling I'm going to think about that dress...and if it's still there a month from now (the 50% off everything sale is the last Saturday of the month), I might have to buy it and just wear it with a shrug or jacket.
