Yesterday, I went for a nice, long walk at yet another new-to-me local(ish) park (I'm working my way through a list). I forgot to bring a drink with me so on the way home, I stopped at an independent grocery store and picked up a few items, including a bottle of water. While I was looking over some grapes, a teenager came in with her mom and proceeded to eat a grape from at least three different bags of grapes. I just don't get it...do the grapes really taste that different from bag to bag? I'm in the FIRM "nay" camp; after she left, I dug through the bags looking for one her (potentially) grubby fingers HADN'T been in. I thought it was gross and unsanitary before COVID; you can imagine how much less a fan I am now. In addition to people snitching grapes, I've also seen folks stick a fingernail in a kernel of corn to see if it's sweet enough. Ewwwwww.

I'm also not a fan of consuming something in a store and then presenting the container (empty or half empty) to the cashier to scan. On the one hand, I commend those folks for being honest and paying for what they just ate or drank but OTOH, I don't feel it's really "yours" until it's paid for. I've heard arguments from both parents with their kids in tow and folks who have blood sugar issues for eating/drinking something in the store...I have some sympathy for the latter but still think it's not right.

Thoughts?
