Just finished An Unfinished Love Story: A Personal History of the Sixties by Doris Kearns Goodwin. Kearns Goodwin and her husband Richard Goodwin started a project of going through all of his papers from his time working in the White House for President Kennedy and later Johnson. He left Johnson's White House in the later years due to a dispute about the Vietnam War and worked on Eugene McCarthy's and Robert Kennedy's campaigns. He also was friends with Jackie Kennedy. Doris Kearns went to the White House as an intern during Johnson's final year and later became his biographer. Richard and Doris' time at the White House didn't overlap and they didn't meet till the 70's. Unfortunately, Richard died before they could complete their book and she finished it herself.
Although I was too young to vote during this decade, I was affected by the history and especially by the idealism. People really had a better feeling about the government then and things were less polarized.
Also, because of the Bridgerton's season 3, I re-read Romancing Mr. Bridgerton.
Also finishing The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store. I was 114th in line at the library for this and was unable to finish so I put myself back on the waiting list and now have it back.
