she's on an upswing so we are going to meet for dinner tomorrow!

I remember my friend's mother, the chemo was so bad she almost forgot about the cancer. They cancelled the last round because it was honestly threatening her life. Ten years later, she's cancer-free.

I did 4 rounds of terrible chemo followed by 16 of 'easy' chemo. And the terrible chemo was bad - really bad, and there was no way I could pretend everything was okay. The next chemo SEEMED easier because it followed the terrible chemo and how could one NOT feel better? But it's still chemo and by the end, it was starting to wear my body down.

Thanks for sharing this. I have thought of you often because she's close to the age you were when you were diagnosed, so I've often used everything you shared as a map to try and figure out where I can support. While her prognosis is worse, she's going to have some time, ideally, and I'm trying to focus on continuing to be her friend while I can. Hopefully for several more years.

I hope the next rounds are easier on your friend, it's so hard to see our loved ones suffering, so take care of yourself, as well.

Very encouraged by her last text message. "I'm gucci! Where are we meeting?" -- very on-brand.
