(Mom's brother and his wife) raised their kids in Streetsboro before moving to a home in Stow to enjoy their retirement (and enjoy not having so many steps to go up and down). Both of their kids bought homes in Stow; one lived there with his wife until his death in 2021 and his widow still lives there, while his sister and her family moved just a few miles away to Kent to be closer to his parents. They actually bought a house whose backyard abuts his parents' property.
I AM a little surprised you've never been to Blossom. I'm not much of a concertgoer, so I can count on one hand the number of times I've been there. I saw The Monkees there a couple times. I went to a Moody Blues concert with friends. I saw Sting there with another friend (that was the show where my friend and I both came home with contact highs thanks to the number of joints smoked in the rows in front and behind us). And in my college days, I was very briefly part of a student group that raised funds by being ticket takers for a concert. It's sad I can't remember if the performer was Billy Joel or Elton John...it was one of the two. At the time, I wasn't a huge fan of either (I'm not now, though I like both artists well enough and enjoy most of their songs) but we were allowed to stay for the concert and watch from the hill.
My one regret is not having been to one of the Cleveland Orchestra's classical concerts at Blossom. I *almost* went about 15 years ago; the orchestra was performing selections from the soundtracks to the Lord of the Rings movies, with the composer--Howard Shore--directing and clips shown on a screen in the background. BUT...I went to the website to get a single ticket for the lawn and it was $99. At first I thought I'd mistakenly asked for maybe 4 seats--we're talking seating on the lawn, where you had to bring a folding chair or a blanket--but no, it really was $99, plus fees, for one lawn seating. Too rich for my blood. Still, I highly recommend the venue to anyone thinking of seeing a concert there.
ETA--memory is a funny thing. Pretty sure now it was Elton John I saw for free back in college because I *do* remember the opening act was a group called Wet Wet Wet, and Google said they toured with EJ in 1988, so there you go <g>.
