He is a horrible, terrible, very bad person but he never actually wanted the Throne. Alicent forced him on it and now she's just like "Oh, well, he can die so I'll be free". It's terrible writing, IMO. Should've let her stayed loyal to her kids even if they were psychos.
Rhaenys was also seemingly much more...aware of who was at fault when it came to Alyn. "His past is no fault of his." Clearly heavily implying it's not ALYN'S fault Corlys slept with someone else and had children with her. RIP to a real one, Rhaenys. You clearly have more perspective than Catelyn Stark ever did, lol.
For my money, Rhaenys was the best member of Team Black. She should've been Queen. How different the world would've been if she had sit the Throne instead of Viserys.
I won't lie, I HATED Catlyn and still do. She was awful to Jon, she blamed him for things out of his control, she treated him like crap. Then she made one stupid decision after the other leading to her husband's death and then a war. I was glad when she died and thrilled the show didn't do Lady Stoneheart. 😂
