I am very lucky in that where I live I rarely lose power (the lines are buried and -knock on wood- we haven't had very much severe weather in this area in a while, at least none that affected the power. 20 years ago Hurricane Isabel came through and knocked out power to a lot of the state, but I was fine - my friend was having a surprise 30th birthday party for her husband and we all had a party by candlelight. I brought the cake and ice, since my area was the only one around with power! (He thought we were crazy to still have the party, btw, but we were all young and liked to drink LOL). Last year we did lose power for a night - I can't remember now what kind of storm it was, but it freaked Jack out. We discovered we did not have nearly enough flashlights but we remedied that!
