I went to my local St. Vincent de Paul Thrift store to look for a soft bag that I could use to store hair care stuff I use when I visit a lady at an assisted living facility. I'd just gotten a BIG comb, a replacement bottle of leave-in conditioner (the other one disappeared...not sure where I put it), and a few odds and ends that came with the comb. I had marked the card where the comb and clips had been to show the size of the comb, and I held the marked card next to a few purses and bags until I found the right size one. I was thrilled! I had no clue about the price, but I was getting that bag.

After I got the bag, I wandered through the store and found a Popeil (Mr. Set it and forget it) Automatic Pasta maker. I'd been contemplating one and had seen sets on eBay for a while but had talked myself out of getting one. Well, today, I gave up and bought it. I had NO clue about the price, but I was getting it.

At the register, I saw the price ($20), but there was some kind of a discount. The total price, including the purse ($1), was FIFTEEN DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Popeil machine didn't include the dies for the machine, but I'll order them on eBay. I think I can get a set of about 30 die for about $30. Not bad. It includes the measuring cup. I downloaded the manual. I'll be set to try this on my own in a week or two. SO excited.

I'd purchased a manual, hand crank, pasta maker (my mother had one and never used it) with instructions in Italian and English. It's very heavy. I think there's a pasta maker for my Bosch mixer, but it costs about $150.

It's right up there with buying my second L'Equip (now Nutrimill) Classic grain mill. I'd purchased one years ago for $275(?) and got the second one at the same thrift store for $20.00.

Great day for great bargains!!!!
