it only closes the very TOP of the bag and it's very easy for someone to slip their hand along the sides and steal your stuff.

like Tax says below, ALL purses should have a zippered phone pocket on the OUTSIDE of the bag. LOL

this is why there are always so many different styles of purses/pocketbooks (SCOOTER!) and handbags.
