My dryer had been playing a percussion solo with intermittent squeaks for several weeks. Irritating, but livable. Then my daughter moved into the kitchen area where the couch is due to ants...another story...and the laundry area is in the hallway next to where she's sleeping.

SO, I called the guy who fixed the dishwasher to have him repair the dryer. He was scheduled for Friday (when I had another appointment - an Azure Standard drop)...then didn't show up or call. I went to the drop which, thankfully, started late (technically, about five minutes later than the scheduled time; but the truck usually arrives about 30 - 45 minutes early, so we try to be there early so the driver can get back on the road and possibly take a break before getting to the next site). Drop went well.

A person at the drop said that you have to unplug the dryer for at least 24 hours to prevent getting shocked. Wasn't sure if that was true, but I unplugged the machine and didn't start the job until Sunday (not my normal time for working on stuff).

I'd already ordered the parts and watched the YouTube video at least three times but I couldn't reassemble the dryer. <SIGH> I have one wire that disconnected itself from something while I was opening up the dryer (still have no idea where it belongs) and I couldn't get the belt that goes around the drum to slip on the drum.

Okay...some major stuff in pieces but I can still dry stuff on the drying rack I put in the screen room Sunday. No word on the remodel. I plan to call the contractor tomorrow. My daughter wants me to wait until October. <SIGH>

The adventures continue. It's gonna be great!
