From one of Stark's interviews, it sounds like they wrote 5 to make 6 hurt more. A lot of Ep. 6 was filmed before Ep. 5 so they did Ep. 5 knowing what was going to happen and used it to reestablish the relationship. Definitely played.

That's just mean. I hate being intentionally screwed with like that. It probably wouldn't have hurt this much if certain other things had not happened this week, in the real world, and I came to my show for some joy. Instead, slapped in the face.

Considering they kept him into Season 8, I guess I expected Tommy to last at least half a season if not longer.

Last season, Minear gave an interview about wanting to get Buck off the "hamster wheel" of his dating life so I really thought they might commit to this storyline and let him have a long term relationship. Dumb of me, huh? I also hate the "It's not realistic for him to end up with his first boyfriend" argument. Oh, "realism"? On THIS show? The beenado show? The ten year olds can land passenger jets show? Yeah, no one is tuning in expecting realism here.

Yeah. I think they're so used to Buck and Eddie fans responding negatively to their love interests that they probably only expected happy responses and not people mad at the gut punch.

The thing is, no matter who is dating whom, some fans will bitch about it. There are the Buddies who want them together and are nasty to any other alternative. There are people who do not want Buddie and will gripe if it happens. Nothing is going to please everyone so pick a lane and stick to it for once, show.

Right now, LFJ is at swat. It sounds like they wanted to use him more this season but he chose 911 (probably because it let him do more as an actor). But then 911 only gave him three episodes before giving him the boot. Even if 911 does reconsider, he probably won't be available even if he's open to it.

What can you say to 911? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. And your stupid prize is being Tommy-less.

And that makes me sad because I'm probably going to hate whoever Buck ends up with.

The good news is we probably won't have to sit through much of his endgame romance. Knowing this show, he will break up with a million more people before, in the very last episode, meeting someone and being like "You are the one! The end." Same for Eddie. We probably won't even know her name, we will just see him some random lady in the final shots.
