good for the pocketbook but OTOH, there's still no rhyme nor reason as to when I'll be working, which continues to frustrate me. There was a mix up a while back...I specifically asked to work the evening shift this Saturday (because I'm off Sundays, I always work Saturdays, which...I don't love, but I get it, it's the nature of retail) and put it in writing. Nobody had ever shown me how to request time off/different shifts via the Dayforce app (I didn't even know that was a thing) but I still made a verbal request and wrote it down. AND...I got scheduled for the morning shift this Saturday. I found out several weeks ago when another co-worker was looking for someone to work her Saturday evening shift. I initially told her I couldn't, as I was already working that shift...then I got suspicious so I checked the schedule and yep, I was scheduled for the morning shift. Luckily, SM was fine with "S" and me trading Saturday shifts, though I'll now be working an extra hour Saturday. Full time at my job is 30 hours/week, which entitles you to benefits. This week, allowing for a 30 minute lunch on days I have a longer shift and working 15 minutes past closing on days I help close, I'm working 29 hours and 45 minutes *sigh*.
At least I got my Saturday morning free. In years past, there were several craft shows I liked to attend. This year, I either can't go due to my work schedule or shouldn't go due to not being able to afford to buy anything, but there's a show at St. Paschal's church a few towns over that good church friend and I have been attending faithfully (pun intended) for a few years now. In addition to a large number of other vendors, there's a husband-wife duo that make their own chocolate and box it in the cutest holiday boxes or bags or even mini stockings. Their prices are very reasonable and lately, it's just not Christmas unless I have one of their giant dark chocolate peanut butter cups 😄
