I usually have it up a week early, and this year Thanksgiving is late, so not having it up now feels weird, and is making me kind of feel lazy and a little bad, but.......pretty sure no one cares, LOL! it's not like i have kids to please, and hubby doesn't care.
plus...i was on the hunt for WARM LED lights for the tree, but there is simply no such thing. the "warm" LED lights are not warm, they just aren't as blueish white.
so ultimately, i just got new incandescent mini lights because that is what i WANT. and I'm totally okay with the .30 cents extra electricity that I'll use everyday.
and then I realized that the cleaning lady is coming this week, and it's so much better to put up Christmas in a clean house than a dusty one, you know?
and not for nothing, since I can't get rid of my fake tree that is NOT pre-lit, it takes me a day to do the lights and a day to do the ornaments. now, i LOVE doing the ornaments, but the lights are annoying as hell. LOL
and not for nothing, this warm fall means the leaves aren't all down yet - and if the leaves aren't down, we can't do our final clean up, and if we can't do the clean up, then I can't put up the solar lights, because the panels and cords get in the way of the rakes and leaf-blowers...so none of my OUTSIDE lights are up, either!!!
but there are many houses in the area who DO have their lights up and it makes me happy and jealous and then a little lazy.
i have unnecessarily complicated feelings about decorating this year, CLEARLY! LOL
