The tile guy showed up today around 8:15. He was there to grout the tiles he'd installed on Saturday. They look great. He left the door to the bathroom open so the grout on the floor tiles would dry better. I had to put up a baby gate to keep the dogs out of the room.
My daughter and I didn't find the tiles we liked this weekend, but we found the ones we liked this afternoon at a local tile place. 313.92 square feet of ceramic tile. It should be delivered the first week of December.
I called my contractor this morning to let him know that the model, which includes a laundry room, did not include a vent for the dryer. There was a pause, then he said that they'd have to install a vent through the roof. Really? This is after the drywall was installed and the room was painted. I'm not using them again.
I plan to contact my former contractor to get on the list to have the rest of the work inside my house done. I doubt he'll be able to fit me in right away. I may not even been scheduled until 2026! I'm hopeful.
I ordered a replacement access panel for the refrigerator that's been in my walkway for a few years. The current panel looks bent and has detached itself. It should be here in a few days. A minor project for me.
Today was the annual Turkey Box Distribution at our St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank. Our pastor celebrated mass today after the blessing at the distribution. He said the teens were there, but they weren't smiling. He reminded them that the Lord loves a cheerful giver (they're giving their labor, loading stuff into people's vehicles), so they should smile when they're helping. Some teens had told him that they're just tired because it's early. They had to be at the food bank by 7:00, I think. Pope Francis likes to say, "If you're happy, let your face know."
Work on the remodel starts again tomorrow. Hopefully the toilet will be installed and my daughter can move out of the kitchen area and we'll be able to prep the space for the other daughter.
Happy Thanksgiving to all if I get too busy prepping and running around to post for a while!
